Visit of Dan Nica the Romanian Minister of Communications and Information Technology

For one week (July 7-14 2001), Mr. Dan Nica, the Romanian Minister for Communications and Information Technology heading an official delegation, visited the United States of America. The visit, organized by U.S. Trade Development Agency, was focused on presenting the IT and communication opportunities offered by Romania in the context of the economic reform and incentives approved by the Romanian Government.

The visit included two segments: East Coast (Washington DC – Florida) and West Coast (San Francisco – Silicon Valley). During his visit on the West Coast, Mr. Nica met with representatives of several American companies: Cisco Systems, Solectron, Marshall & Assoc., Compaq, Loral Space and Communications.

Friday, July 14 2001, Dana Stanculescu, the Honorary Consul of Romania in San Francisco, organized a meeting between the Romanian delegation and a group of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, who are interested in doing business in Romania.

The meeting was hosted by Cornelia and George Haber and the list of participants included:
